The importance of staying active and healthy as a new mom cannot be understated. Numerous studies have showed that physical fitness can lift your mood, reduce fatigue, fight depression and make you a better mother. Moms-to-be should also note that regular exercise (even just 20 minutes, three times a week) is good for your developing baby's brain. Whether your exercise of choice is yoga, spinning, running or just going for a long walk, making the choice to be active is one of the best decisions you can make as a new mom.

Get Outside with Baby
With the warmer weather finally here, it's the perfect time to take your little one outside to play, chill or lounge in their Sleepyhead while you do yoga in the park. A study from the UK showed that a daily dose of fresh air even helps babies sleep better at night. The researchers attribute this to circadian rhythm, which means that the exposure of light to babies helps set their body clock. If you're looking for a way to combine exercise and natural light for your baby, getting outside with baby in their buggy is the best way to do so. Outdoor pram walks with baby is also a great time to catch up with another mum friend. Next time schedule a stroll rather than a lunch date.

Exercise at Home With Baby...and Sleepyhead
Sleepyhead makes it quite easy for mums to get their daily dose of exercise. Place baby in their pod and a toy bar overhead so they can work on strengthening their fine motor skills and neck strength, while you work on toning your abs. Many mums take their Sleepyhead with them with they travel, so you can also sneak in an online exercise class with baby in their pod while on holiday.
